LIFT: A Jazz Symphony ™
Lift up your voice like a trumpet. Isaiah 58:1
A Jazz Symphony, the Genre… according to Bellino, is “Eclecticity” both Eclectic and Electric that enlightens and Lifts while addressing real issues.
Like a symphony, "A Jazz Symphony” and a life consisting of movements. Jazz builds on motifs and improvisation. Symphony builds on structured motifs and movements. Life comes in successions of movements and motifs. These self-contained periods of verified themes and yet one fluid symphony tied together by the theme of the individuals one life…
A movement is a self-contained part of a musical composition or musical form. While individual or selected movements from a composition are sometimes performed separately, a performance of the complete work requires all the movements to be performed in succession. A movement is a section, “a major structural unit perceived as the result of the coincidence of relatively large numbers of structural phenomena.”
The genre, A Jazz Symphony will have a central thought or theme that can be articulated. It synthesizes Eclectic yet harmonious operating movements both musically, socially and intrinsically. A body has many parts but is one. A symphony may have many movements but is one. A society has many ethnicities but is one.
